At the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held the meeting named "Keys to life" with scholars of the Umid Foundation, created on the initiative of the First President to support the education of talented youth abroad.
The meeting was organized as a part of the commemorative week of Islam Karimov, according to the Presidential decree «About immortalization of the memory of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov» No.2744 from January 25, 2017, and order of The Cabinet of Ministers No.133 from February 25, 2019.
The meeting organized by the Islam Karimov Foundation together Memorial Complex brought together graduates of foreign universities from the Umid Foundation, representatives of ministries and departments, public organizations and charitable foundations.
At the event, speeches were made about the role of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in reforming the education system of Uzbekistan, on the activities of the Umid Presidential Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which supports the education of talented youth abroad. The Umid Foundation scholars who graduated from the most prestigious universities and successfully work in various senior positions in Uzbekistan delivered speeches as well.
The film about the Umid Foundation, as well as the activities of the Karimov Foundation in the field of assisting young people of Uzbekistan in getting an education at leading foreign universities was shown to guests and participants.
A ceremony of presenting certificates to the winners of the Karimov Foundation competition for education in the magistracy at leading European universities for 2019-2021 was held at the end of the evening. Certificates were presented by the spouse of the First President Tatyana Karimova, who is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation named after Islam Karimov.
It should be reminded that the Umid Foundation was founded by Islam Karimov in 1997.
Thanks to grants from the Umid Foundation, more than 800 young men and women from all over Uzbekistan were educated at leading universities in the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, the USA, France, and Japan from 1997 to 2002.
Exactly 20 years after the establishment of the Umid Foundation, in January 2017, the Karimov Foundation announced the grants to young people of Uzbekistan to study under the master's program in leading universities in Europe.
Over the past two years, the Foundation named after the First President of Uzbekistan has provided educational grants to 32 young men and women from Uzbekistan to study in leading European universities.
